Job Summary

Reporting to the Associate Secretary of Canadian Ministries, the Education Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing resources for adult education programs. The incumbent is a team player and effective communicator who is dynamic, highly motivated and hardworking with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop online, print, and multi-media resources to equip presbyteries, congregations and ministry leaders in worship leadership, Christian education, discipleship, Bible, theology and spirituality.
  • Work with and advise presbyteries, congregations and ministry leaders in strategies to develop vibrant Christian education programs.
  • Organize, prepare and deliver presentations and workshops (in-person and online).
  • Coordinate the preparation of reports for stakeholders such as General Assembly, Life and Mission Agency, advisory committees, etc.
  • Contribute to budget planning and oversight of costs for development of educational resources.
  • Provide oversight for contract writers and resource people, as required.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Secretary of Canadian Ministries to establish strategic priorities in alignment with the denomination’s goals.
  • Consult with denominational staff in other churches to learn from and consider participation/coordination with their programs.
  • Keep informed of key issues related to worship leadership, Christian education, discipleship, Bible, theology, and spirituality.
  • Other duties as requested by the Associate Secretary of Canadian Ministries.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in relevant field of study
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ relevant experience in the area of education

Skills desired:

  • Ability to work independently and proactively to seek out opportunities for contributions, identify needs within the organization, and the ability to take initiative to get projects started and accomplished with minimal supervision
  • The ability for creative, engaging and meaningful communications with individuals and groups
  • Highly organized, able to multi-task and track multiple projects
  • Experience in program and event design, planning, and implementation
  • Knowledge and skill in the use of a variety of online learning and meeting tools
  • Demonstrated excellence in written, oral and new media communications
  • Ability to work at several projects simultaneously and manage time according to established priorities with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office and ability to use new technologies.

Work requirements:

  • Our organization follows a hybrid work structure with some work done from the national office.

2025 Salary range: Band 4, Regular ($65,254 – $79,755)
