This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the Part-Time Contract Positions (Employee Group).

Position: Education Online Instructor – ADED 3 P 91 D 2 (Fall 2025)

Elective ADED Course: ADED 3P 91 – Power, Practice and Process in Learning (0.5 credit). The course covers theoretical, pedagogical, curricular, and practical issues of power dynamics and differentials in post-secondary and community outreach. It is a half-credit (0.5) course of 36 contact hours, offered in 12-week increments over approximately 12 weeks, fully online and asynchronously within defined weekly windows. There are no on-campus meeting requirements.

Compensation: Approximately $6,820.31 per half course or $13,640.62 per full course.

Instructor Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic direction, feedback, and support to students, including grading and course administration, under the supervision of the Adult Education Director and Program Committee.
  • Facilitate engaging online learning experiences, stimulate discussion, foster community, and develop instructional resources like videos and podcasts.
  • Assess assignments and provide timely feedback according to policies.
  • Use Brightspace as the primary instructional platform.
  • Review and provide input on course content and resources annually.
  • Liaise with faculty and staff as required.
  • Follow institutional policies and complete required training (AODA, Health and Safety, FIPPA, etc.).
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated expertise in adult education and relevant course content.
  • Experience teaching or facilitating adults online or in hybrid modes within the last five years preferred.
  • Relevant professional experience in adult education within the last five years preferred.
  • Graduate degree in a related field (MEd required; PhD or EdD preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 or similar tools.
