This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the Part-Time Contract Positions (Employee Group).

Position: Education Online Instructor – ADED 1P31 D 2 (Fall 2025)

Elective ADED Course: ADE D 1P31 – Learning for Success (0.5 credit). This course covers self-management, goal setting, study skills, and academic integrity, aimed at developing critical self-reflection about learning.

This is a half-credit (0.5) course of 36 contact hours, offered over approximately 12 weeks asynchronously within defined weekly windows, fully online. There are no on-campus meeting requirements.

Compensation: Approximately $6,820.31 per half course or $13,640.62 per full course.

Instructor Duties:

  • Provide academic direction, feedback, and support to online learners, including consultation, grading, and course administration.
  • Facilitate engaging learning experiences adhering to adult education principles, stimulate discussion, and foster community. Develop multimedia instructional resources weekly.
  • Assess and evaluate assignments, providing timely feedback according to policies.
  • Use Brightspace as the primary LMS platform.
  • Review and provide input on course content and resources annually.
  • Coordinate with the Adult Education Director, Program Committee, and staff.
  • Follow policies outlined in the Program Handbook, Calendar, and Faculty Handbook, under the oversight of the Director and Committee.
  • Complete mandatory training including AODA, Health and Safety, FIPPA, and Academic Integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Subject matter expertise in adult education and course content, demonstrated in your resume and cover letter.
  • Successful experience teaching or facilitating adult learning online or hybrid within the last five years preferred.
  • Relevant professional experience in adult education, within the last five years preferred.
  • Graduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., MEd in Adult Education); PhD or EdD preferred with active research.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 or similar tools.
