Qualifications

• PhD in a biological, earth or environmental science discipline or equivalent experience.
• Experience with teaching and learning design across undergraduate/postgraduate levels.
• Experience using educational technologies and online delivery methods.
• Proven teaching effectiveness and commitment to educational excellence.
• Ability to develop curricula and lead curriculum improvements.
• Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Ability to support diverse learners and promote equity, diversity and inclusion.
• Knowledge of UNSW aims, values and health & safety responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team delivering capstone subjects SCIF1000 and SCIF1001 with course convening and collaboration.
• Apply a defined teaching philosophy and reflective practice to inspire student learning.
• Conduct classes, assess student learning, and support undergraduate/postgraduate courses.
• Design and develop learning activities, resources and assessments across courses and programs.
• Support student progression and implement inclusive teaching aligned with EDI principles.
• Manage course administration as Course Authority and ensure academic quality.
• Contribute to School meetings, committees and cross‑UNSW teaching initiatives.
• Collaborate with peers across UNSW and mentor staff in teaching practice.
