Who We Are

The Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese (the CISVA) operates 46 schools – 40 elementary and 6 high schools. About St. James and St. Ann’s Elementary School (SJA)

Located in Abbotsford, just off the highway at the Mt. Lehman exit, SJA is a community of approximately 225 students from Grades K-7. We pride ourselves on faith formation and providing opportunities to deepen faith, along with a focus on academic, emotional, physical, and spiritual education.

Abbotsford offers a vibrant community with access to trails, shopping, transit, and is close to the famous Tulip Festival and home to the Vancouver Canucks farm team. It is also one of the most affordable communities in the Lower Mainland of BC.

Job Description

This full-time position involves:

  1. Supporting elementary students with diverse learning needs.
  2. Collaborating with teachers to provide academic accommodations and support.
  3. Maintaining confidential records.
  4. Communicating positively and collaboratively with teachers, educational assistants, and administration.
  5. Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
Qualifications & Requirements
  • EA certification from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Experience working with children, youth, and families.
  • Positive attitude towards working in an elementary school environment.
  • Professional boundaries.
  • Additional training such as POPARD, CPI, and First Aid is an asset.
  • Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities is preferred.
