Job summary

Saanich Schools is seeking a Crossing Guard to support student safety at designated crossings in the district. The position runs on Thursdays and Fridays from 8:40am to 2:48pm, for 10 months during the school session.

The role pays $30.20 per hour and may include Crossing Guard training if needed. End date is December 18, 2026, or until the incumbent returns.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work the Current Shift: 8:40am–2:48pm, Thursdays and Fridays only.

Responsibilities

• Assist students crossing streets at designated routes to ensure safety.
• Maintain safe crossing procedures and adhere to district policies.
• Notify supervisor of any incidents or safety concerns.

Current Shift: 8:40am- 2:48pmThursday & Friday only

(Includes 1/2 hour unpaid lunch) 10 months per year while regular classes are in session

Additional minutes per day are included in the‘Current Shift’schedule above, which staff are expected to work daily in lieu of the spring break closure week in order to allow employees in continuing and temporary assignments to be paid their regular pay during the spring closure week as per Letter of Understanding-Spring Closure Week.

Pay Rate: $30.20

This positionis NOT entitledto collaboration time as outlined in thecurrent Letter of Understanding - Support Staff Learning Improvement Fund.

End Date: December 18, 2026, or return of incumbent, whichever comes first

Successful candidate may receive Crossing Guard training in order to fill in when necessary
