Job description

The Burnaby School District is seeking an Education Assistant to work at the BC School for the Deaf (BCSD).

Education Assistants are responsible for providing support in the classroom, around the school, and within the community. Specifically, assistance is provided in the following:

• Behaviour management

• Curriculum implementation

• Social skills development

• Personal care

• Physical assistance

To be considered, candidates must have the following:

Required Qualifications:

• Successful completion of a recognized program in special needs assistance;

• One (1) year of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of training and/or

experience.

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)

Hours of Work = 30 per week

Rate of Pay = $35.11
