Job description

We are looking for an experienced EDM CNC Machinist/Programmer to work with our team of engineers to develop iterations of prototypes for our research projects. If you enjoy working as part of a team to create, produce, test, and improve parts, we have the opportunity for you.

Qualifications

1. Minimum of 3 years related experience
2. Able to read and accurately interpret prints and shop drawings
3. Ability to set up and operate CNC Mills
4. Knowledge of Mastercam, Fusion 360
5. Able to select and use the appropriate precision measuring instruments to ensure components are machined to specified tolerances and surface finishes as indicated on prints, shop drawings, charts, and tables
6. Strong communication skills, with a positive team spirit
7. Strong safety-related skills and knowledge
8. Able to work with minimum supervision
9. Must be fluent in English, spoken and written

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for the setup and operation of EDM and manual machining equipment
2. Verifying tooling requirements prior to the commencement of each job
3. Responsible for the EDM and/or manual machining of complex & fabricated components with various metals
4. Work at a sustained pace and produce quality work
5. Perform work accurately
6. Ensure equipment maintenance program is maintained and all safety measures and requirements are met
7. Ensure department housekeeping is maintained
