Job Responsibilities
  • Embed yourself in the industry to ensure our readers are informed about industry news, business and production trends, forward-thinking brands and sector experts, products/technology, and industry happenings.
  • Develop products around industry-leading content, selecting the best platforms to make our brand a "must-read," "must-follow," "must-share," and "must-subscribe" destination.
  • Partner with freelance writers and industry contributors, edit their copy, and ensure the quality and timeliness of online content.
  • Creatively utilize our digital products, including websites, e-newsletters, videos, webinars, podcasts, social media, and more to reach readers wherever they are.
  • Attend industry events (both live and virtual) to connect with your market and audience.

Create content and marketing strategies around existing and new events like conferences, award programs, and trade shows.

  • Build and foster relationships with industry associations and partners.

Innovate and respond to emerging trends and technological needs within the media industry.

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Possesses a degree or diploma in journalism or a related field, with three or more years of experience in editing, writing, or journalism.
  • Experience covering technical or business sectors is an asset.
  • Proficient with all forms of media communication, including print, websites, e-newsletters, video, and social media.
  • Holds a valid driver’s license and is willing to travel within and outside Canada.
  • Demonstrates teamwork, a proactive attitude, and takes ownership of their work.
  • Strong organizational skills and computer proficiency.
  • Outgoing personality and comfortable in social settings.
  • Proven track record of exceeding expectations and delivering exceptional results.
  • Adaptable to the evolving media landscape with a strong work ethic.
  • Capable of working remotely and in-office as required.
