Job description

A career in our Digital Forensics and eDiscovery (DFeD) practice, within Forensic Technology services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients protect their business in today’s evolving landscape by applying advanced and strategic approaches to information management. We focus on assisting organisations manage vast amounts of electronic data and navigate the legal and business processes demanded by critical events which includes litigation, regulatory requests and internal investigations.Our team is dedicated to helping clients collect, filter, and review electronic documents to effectively mitigate technological risk and maximize insights from their digital assets. We focus on delivering exceptional service and innovative solutions to meet our clients' needs.

Meaningful work you’ll be part of

As a eDiscovery and Legal Document Review Senior Manager , you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leading and managing a team of document review professionals, providing instruction, oversight, and feedback to ensure high-quality performance

  • Collaborating directly with clients to understand their needs and objectives and developing and implementing tailored document review strategies

  • Developing and implementing best practices and procedures for the document review process, including quality control measures to maintain accuracy and consistency

  • Establishing and maintaining ongoing training and development programs for review staff to ensure continuous improvement and upskilling

  • Managing and allocating review resources to meet project deadlines and client needs, while monitoring review statistics and resolving bottlenecks to maintain efficiency

  • Utilizing review tool analytics (structured and conceptual) and Continuous Active Learning to optimize the review process

  • Performing Second Level Legal Review (for both relevance and privilege) and Quality Assurance Review whererequired

  • Acting as the primary contact for the client, addressing their needs, providing updates, monitoring the budget, and managing expectations

  • Assisting with business administrative tasks, including billing drafting reports to document all review activities and results

  • Project managing eDiscovery workflows and staying up to date with industry standards and emerging trends and technologies

  • Assisting with business development efforts, including drafting proposals, preparing materials, presenting at speaking engagements, and conversing with potential clients

  • Developing and executing go-to-market strategies to attract new clients and expand the practice

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve

  • Lawyer admitted to the bar in Canada and licensed to practice law

  • Specialist in the Relativity document review platform, with associated certifications being a plus

  • Proven experience managing an eDiscovery document review and understanding the whole eDiscovery process as per the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM)

  • Excellent technical skills, with experience and/or knowledge of eDiscovery tools, methodologies, and protocols, ideally with related industry certifications

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and analytical ability

  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • A high level of personal integrity and energy, a commitment to teamwork, and a strong desire to learn

  • This role doesn’t support completion of the Canadian CPA designation
