Qualifications

Job description

Department Flight Operations Reports to Flight Operations Manager / Chief Pilot Location Ottawa office and SGL field project locations worldwide

Responsibilities of the Position

  • Responsible for the operation and safety of the aircraft they command and for all those on board during the flight;
  • Assist in monitoring on-board geophysical equipment;
  • Complete preflight inspections and postflight reports;
  • Liaise with foreign aviation authorities;
  • For each flight, become familiar with:
    • the planned route/flight plan;
    • the aerodromes planned for normal and emergency use, and
    • the survey navigation equipment and ensure that it is in working order.
  • Ensure the following has been met:
    • the flight as planned can be made safely; and
    • the aircraft equipment including emergency, survival and safety equipment are installed.
Qualifications And Experience

  • A valid commercial pilot´s licence with group 1 instrument rating;
  • Minimum of 1,000 total hours;
  • A valid passport or the ability to obtain a valid passport for the purpose of traveling globally;
  • Valid driver's licence;
  • Willing to travel to our global survey sites;
  • Low level survey flying experience an asset;
  • International flying experience an asset;
  • Experience on de Havilland Twin Otters; and
  • Additional languages an asset.
