Purpose

The RF Engineer will manage, operate, and expand M1 Composites' radome testing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop test plans and procedures based on customer requirements for aircraft radome transmissivity testing using weather radar antennas, adhering to RTCA standards and MIL specifications.
2. Operate test ranges and produce reports to support certification processes.
3. Coordinate the construction and installation of a new Compact Field Testing Range with internal and external stakeholders.
4. Lead R&D projects on various aircraft components and the development of a Compact/Near Field Radome Measurement System.
5. Expand testing capabilities and customer base for existing and future testing equipment.
6. Maintain in-house test ranges and equipment according to operating procedures to meet certification standards.
7. Identify failures, troubleshoot issues during system testing, and develop corrective actions.
8. Design testing fixtures, tooling, and jigs, and support their manufacturing.
9. Assist the design team with other manufacturing projects.

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong background in radiofrequency analysis, testing, and RF standards.
• Experience with integrating equipment (VNA, power generators, etc.) in an anechoic chamber.
• Experience calibrating RF testing equipment.
• Knowledge of Lua or NSI MI-3000 software (asset).
• Experience managing and leading R&D projects (asset).
• Knowledge of aircraft technical publications (AMM, SRM, CMM, IPC, etc.) (asset).
• Bilingual in English and French, spoken and written.
