Overview

Four Tens, Monday-Thursday (with Weekends Free), $18.50 to $19.50/Hour ($21.50 to $22.50/Hour with Incentive)

Sun Mountain Custom Doors, an industry-leading manufacturer of custom doors and other architectural millwork products, is seeking multiple positions for Wood Sanding/Finish Preparation, finishing beautiful custom wood doors and other architectural millwork products for luxury homes. The company's factory is located just off I-25 near Johnstown, Colorado (just south of Loveland). Evening shift positions are available working Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM (four ten-hour days). An additional $1.00/hour shift differential is offered for the Evening shift. Overtime can be frequent (but is not guaranteed), and candidates must be available to work overtime on some weekdays or Fridays (with weekends free). If no experience, paid training will be provided. A significant incentive bonus of up to $3.00 per hour is also included, increasing the hourly wage to $20 to $22/hour (and will be discussed during interview/at hire).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sanding raw wood to prepare for glazes, stains, or other finishes.
  • Using hand tools and techniques for preparing and finishing products.
  • Applying glaze coatings by hand.
  • Understanding instructions regarding individual orders.
  • Complying with health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Handling and safely moving building materials.
  • Staying on schedule while maintaining quality work.
  • Taking direction from the supervisor.
  • Working in cooperation with a small team.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Transferable skills include painting, staining, or sanding/preparing surfaces for glazes, paint, or stain.

Qualifications:

  • Passion and drive to produce a quality product in a timely manner.
  • Cabinetry or millwork finishing experience is preferred.
  • Previous use of hand tools including orbital sanders is preferred.
  • Handwipe glazing experience a plus.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Solid record of attendance.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Skilled at communicating with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Experience using hand tools.
  • Proven reliability and dependability.
  • Flexibility, including the ability to adapt to changes in priority.

Physical Demands:

  • Safety glasses must be worn at all times.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
