Position Overview

The Continuing EIT will perform specific engineering activities requiring the application of basic technical principles. Although still developing technical skills, the candidate is required to exercise a limited degree of professional judgment in completing assignments. This level represents a continuing portion of an engineer’s training and development, with work increasing in scope and responsibility.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering specializing in Chemical Engineering with some work experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Knowledge of oil sands extraction processes and technologies is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain production reporting systems to ensure accurate and timely data analysis and reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform daily and monthly reconciliation of plant mass balances and track the Bitumen variance within the regional sites.
  • Support the update of the AER S-23 Manual for Extraction operations activities and monitor changes in regulations to update reporting processes accordingly.
  • Collaborate with various teams to address production reporting and regulatory concerns while optimizing processes.
  • Utilize analytical tools to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of production processes, methodologies, and reporting standards.
Location & Other Details:
  • Work location: Calgary head office, Suncor Energy Centre, 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours: 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday.
