Senior Sales Representative - Sherbrooke / Granby Region

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Senior Sales Representative will work in collaboration with the team of account managers and will be responsible for purchasing scrap metal products (from dealers / inter-companies). He will also be required to develop and maintain outstanding business relationships with new and existing customers. This position requires a dynamic and enterprising individual who is able to work closely with all staff and departments of the company, as well as with customers and suppliers.

  • Purchase scrap metal to meet or exceed tonnage targets while maximizing profit margins;
  • Visit dealers and industrial suppliers, by phone or in person, to promote new and repeat business, offer pricing, provide customer service, answer questions, handle complaints, and build relationships;
  • Prospect for new customers;
  • Develop reliable contact networks for up-to-date buy / sell prices and market trends;
  • Negotiate new contracts with clients;
  • Perform P&L analysis;
  • Use knowledge of triage operations and processing to optimize pricing decisions;
  • Coordinate with administrative staff and the sales team to ensure accurate and timely documentation of purchase transactions;
  • Provide comments and recommendations on scrap metal purchase prices for AIM-operated yards;
  • Carry out special projects as assigned;
  • Coach and lead the sales team;
  • Perform other related tasks as needed.
  • College Diploma in Commerce, Sales, Marketing, or equivalent training or experience;
  • 3+ years of experience in the recycling industry, with ferrous and non-ferrous metals experience considered an asset;
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license;
  • Superior customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent math, problem-solving, and negotiation skills;
  • Knowledge of metal alloy identification is helpful but not required;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Ability to travel throughout the territory;
  • Knowledge of CRM systems is an asset;
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset, especially for the QC region;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team;
  • Strong results analysis skills;
  • Ability to prioritize in a high-pressure environment;
  • Understanding of organizational management principles.
