Education: Master's degree. Counselling psychology. Mental health counselling/counsellor. Work setting: Clinic. Private practice. Mental health institution, facility or clinic. Tasks: Conduct research on related specialized therapies. Consult with other health care professionals to evaluate treatment plans . Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling and the patient's outcomes. Interview clients, prepare case histories and assess problems. Record observations. Accreditation or registration with the appropriate national, provincial or territorial professional association. Certification with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
