Job Purpose
We are currently looking for a Director Real Estate Operations to manage a team of professionals, providing leadership, as well as exemplary client service, and real estate expertise in the development and implementation of asset management, capital investment, and budget and financial management programs and initiatives, for an assigned area of the government’s real estate portfolio, which includes asset and operational responsibility for leased and owned building assets.

What You Will Do
- In this position, you will be accountable for the implementation of cost effective and sustainable asset management solutions through service provider oversight and leadership, and for fostering and promoting strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders to develop the best, sustainable use of government assets, including the management oversight of all day-to-day facility operations
- The Director is required to have a comprehensive understanding of asset and facility management as a business, including leasing, property maintenance, outsourcing models, tenant relations, and executive reporting. It is essential that you possess a sound understanding of infrastructure and asset management issues, trends and solutions within public and/or private sectors.
- The Director is required to have an exceptional ability to problem solve, troubleshoot and make timely decisions related to ambiguous and/or complex issues within the public sector ( i.e. defining the issue, developing options, making and executing recommendations) and relating to management of the build environment.
- In addition, the Director needs to possess excellent negotiation skills to manage clients, Service Providers and amend third-party service agreements.
Who We're Looking For
- Significant experience in managing large multi-property portfolios.
- Experience in real estate asset management, and experience with change and project management.
- Experience within financial management and business planning, an ability to make decisions and exercise sound judgement in a sensitive environment and aptitude to identify problems, analyze and interpret information and data to make timely recommendations.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast paced, agile team environment is a must.
- Most importantly, the Director will be required to be responsible for 24/7 oversight for their assigned portfolio and will be accountable to respond, lead and communicate operational requirements and emergency response (as required) that will occur within the managed portfolio.

The hiring range for this position is $120,500 - $180,800 with a corresponding job level of M3.
