Job description

Job Summary and Requirements

This is an until-filled competition. Candidates are encouraged to submit their applications promptly, as this posting can close at any time after 10 business days with a 24-hour notice. Resumes will be screened regularly until the position is filled or the competition closes, whichever occurs first.

This posting will be used to fill a permanent full-time position working 75 hours bi-weekly. It will establish a 12-month eligibility list for similar roles.

This position is based in Whitehorse, Yukon, a thriving and diverse city.

Who We Are

Hearing Services is the public audiology service for Yukon. Our team provides inclusive, accessible hearing health services to all Yukoners, from newborns to seniors. We seek an enthusiastic, resourceful audiologist to join our innovative team in delivering progressive hearing healthcare.

Your Role

Reporting to the Manager of Hearing Services, you will provide professional audiological services to Yukon residents, including adult and pediatric diagnostic assessments, hearing aid selection and dispensing, aural rehabilitation, public education, and in-service training for healthcare professionals.

Essential Qualifications
Application and Job Requirements

Please submit a resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the following qualifications. Selection will be based solely on your resume.

  • Master’s Degree in Audiology from a Canadian university or equivalent from a recognized international program;
  • Current ACSLPA registration or eligibility to register;
  • Recent experience in conducting comprehensive audiometric assessments and clinical interpretation for adults and/or children;
  • Experience with hearing aid consultation and fittings is an asset;
  • Experience with specialized testing (e.g., ABR, tinnitus, vestibular, central auditory) is an asset.

Conditions of Employment

Candidates must provide:

  • A copy of their Master’s or Doctorate of Audiology degree;
  • Current registration with ACSLPA or a recognized Canadian audiological association, with registration to ACSLPA within 3 months;
  • Security clearance for Vulnerable Sector;
  • TB screening;
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent;
  • WHMIS 2015 training within one month of hire.

  • Periodic travel to Yukon communities.
