Position Purpose
This position provides leadership and support in the development, and administration of recreation services for Salt Spring Island (SSI) Parks and Recreation. The Manager is responsible for administering, leading and managing the activities of the SSI Parks and Recreation service, in accordance with the regulations, policies, practises and direction of the CRD and its Commission (SSI & LCC), and for providing leadership, strategic direction and support on all matters relating to the mandate. With a strong emphasis on leadership, customer service and establishing and maintaining strong and positive relationships with the community and agencies, this position is responsible for managing multiple projects of SSI Parks, Arts, Recreation and Culture (PARC), the workforce, and to be involved in management initiatives of the CRD.
It is a requirement of this position to live on or be willing to relocate to Salt Spring Island to meet operational requirements.
