Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a crucial part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing an excellent customer experience, ensuring fans can access their favorite merchandise. You’ll leverage your fandom knowledge to train new recruits, support daily operations, and help meet sales targets.

What You'll Do

1. Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages customer loyalty through product knowledge and excellent customer service.
2. Step in and support when needed, including covering the sales floor and assisting the management team.
3. Open and close the store as required, demonstrating trustworthiness and responsibility.
4. Operate the register, process transactions, and use your fandom expertise to promote add-on sales, including benefits like BOPIS and curbside pickup. Communicate any register shortages or overages to the Store Manager.
5. Understand store sales plans, goals, and key KPIs such as UPT and ADT.
6. Assist with planogram updates, including store layout, wall displays, fixtures, and merchandising.
7. Share fashion and music trend insights with management and HQ partners.
8. Work with Store Management to prevent theft and ensure store security.
9. Support store maintenance by keeping the stockroom organized and the store tidy.
10. Contribute to building a passionate, collaborative team to run the store effectively.
11. Perform any additional activities assigned by your Store Leader.

What You'll Need

1. At least 1 year of retail experience; a love for music and pop culture is a plus!
2. Strong communication, time management, professionalism, and operational skills, with a drive to develop your team.
3. A high school diploma or GED.
4. Ability to navigate the store, merchandise products, and lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.
