Academic Advisor - Coulee Collegiate

Coulee Collegiate is seeking a Part-Time (0.50 FTE) Academic Advisor to join our team. This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a teacher to work in an innovative environment, assisting students with their academic goals. The school is located on MHC property, on the third floor above the Vera Bracken Library.

Description

Under the guidance of the School Principal, the successful candidate will be involved in program planning for students, developing plans for student success, and helping them achieve graduation requirements or entrance requirements for post-secondary schooling. This position is full-time for approximately 4 months of the school year, specifically in September, October (partial), January, February (partial), and June, during which the successful candidate will work full-time at Coulee Collegiate. During the remaining months, the staff member will not have responsibilities at the school. (Specific dates are flexible and can be discussed with the Principal.) This role may be ideal for an experienced Academic Advisor, Administrator, or Teacher seeking a part-time position. The candidate should exhibit a flexible, student-centered, and collaborative philosophy aligned with Coulee Collegiate's values. This is a positive, solution-focused environment. About Coulee Collegiate

Coulee Collegiate opened in the 2020-2021 school year, developed in partnership with Medicine Hat Public School Division, Prairie Rose Public Schools, and Medicine Hat College. The school offers academic upgrading through Distance Learning and face-to-face classes following the College calendar. It provides an innovative blend of high school and college environments, allowing students to take high school classes at their own pace in a positive setting with like-minded learners.
