JOB DESCRIPTION :

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Production Control Director oversees master scheduling and production control within Maintenance, Repair, and Exchange operations. Leading the Montreal site's production activities, you'll ensure operational needs, quality standards, and regulatory compliance are met. You'll drive efficiency, performance, and continuous improvement while managing a team responsible for production schedules, inventory availability, workflow optimization, and compliance with company and industry standards.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Develop and implement the long-term strategy for production control and scheduling, ensuring alignment with the company's business objectives.
  • Lead and mentor the scheduling and production control team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, attainment, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and oversee the execution of production plans while balancing resource utilization, cost control, and production timelines.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of production operations and take corrective actions when needed.
  • Ensure the on-time completion of all maintenance, repair, and exchange activities, considering resource availability, production priorities, and material constraints.
  • Lead the coordination between cross-functional teams (e.g., Scheduling, Production Control, Procurement, Engineering, Production, and Logistics) to guarantee the smooth flow of production activities.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules that optimize the use of labor, equipment, and materials, ensuring minimal downtime and on-time delivery.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of scheduling and production control professionals.
  • Oversee resource planning to ensure that personnel, equipment, and materials are available and allocated effectively to meet production requirements.
  • Champion the implementation of lean manufacturing and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Analyze production data and provide actionable insights to improve performance and identify areas for improvement.

Collaborate closely with Quality Control and Engineering teams to ensure that all products meet the required industry standards and specifications.

Prepare regular reports on production performance, including key metrics such as on-time delivery, cycle times, inventory turnover, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, industrial management, operations management, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in production control, operations management, or a similar role in the aerospace maintenance and servicing industry.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role, preferably managing a team in a high-volume, complex production environment.
  • Strong communication skills in both English and French, verbal and written.
  • In-depth knowledge of production control systems, ERP systems, and other manufacturing software.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis, process optimization, and continuous improvement methods.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards within the aviation industry.
  • Analytical thinking: Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and develop actionable solutions to improve production performance.

WORK CONDITIONS :

  • Permanent, full-time position.
  • Competitive salary around $150,000 to $160,000 annually, plus bonus.
