Located in the Southern Athabasca region, MEG’s Christina Lake Project is a multi-phased project approximately 150 kilometers south of Fort McMurray in Northeast Alberta. It comprises approximately 200 square kilometers of leases and is a SAGD operation currently approved to produce about 210,000 bpd. Workers will stay at the modern Poplar Ridge Lodge, which offers amenities like a gym, rec area, commissary, laundry, Wi-Fi, cable, and catering. The site team emphasizes safety and efficiency.

Jardeg is recruiting a Materials and Tooling Handler for the MEG Energy Capital Projects, located near Conklin, Alberta. This is a temporary full-time role with an 8-days on, 6-days off rotation, each shift lasting 11 hours. Travel allowance of $500 per rotation is provided for drive-in/drive-out commuting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling shipments to and from the site.
  • Escorting loads onto the site as needed.
  • Assessing incoming loads before unloading.
  • Unloading materials, inspecting for damages, shortages, and overages.
  • Logging documentation issues (MTRs, CRNs, etc.).
  • Resolving overages, shortages, and damages with departments and clients.
  • Managing client-supplied materials and related issues.
  • Picking and delivering materials to meet work schedules.
  • Properly storing materials per manufacturer guidelines.
  • Ensuring materials are clearly marked and traceable.
  • Maintaining records for tools and equipment issued and returned.
  • Managing tool calibration, repairs, and replacements.
  • Collaborating with procurement to order tools and parts, maintaining safety stock.
  • Receiving, unpacking, and storing tools and equipment, replenishing inventory as needed.
  • Inspecting tools for defects and wear.
  • Locating missing tools and conducting inventory audits.
  • Entering data into Graham's Material Management System (Tool Hound).
  • Overseeing weekly vehicle maintenance and inspections.
  • Accurately maintaining MTR logs.
  • Coordinating with buyers for material needs.
  • Participating in planning meetings to understand material requirements.
  • Managing unloading of complex loads.
  • Providing advance notice for incoming loads requiring preservation.
  • Representing the materials team in site meetings.
  • Planning laydown areas for materials.
  • Coordinating surplus material and equipment demobilization during project closeout.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years’ experience in construction material receiving.
  • Knowledge of shipping documents and quality records.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, MS Office, and email.
  • Experience in the oil and gas construction industry is preferred.
  • Basic inventory management skills.
  • Positive attitude and good customer service skills.
