A leading health team in Eastern Ontario seeks a Psychologist to provide psychological and counselling services, focusing on trauma and mental health. The role involves working collaboratively with an inter-professional team to enhance patient wellbeing and deliver educational programs. Preference will be given to qualified Inuit candidates.
STATUS : Full / Part-time temporary (3-5 days per week)

The Akausivik Inuit Family Health Team (AIFHT) is passionate about providing culturally competent, high-quality care and support, intended to enhance the wellbeing of Inuit. We work with federal, provincial, and local health authorities to ensure we are providing a responsive and culturally appropriate model of excellence in primary care.
ABOUT THE JOB :
As a member of the Akausivik Inuit Family Health Team (AIFHT), the Psychologist will work conjointly with the team of Executive Director, Consulting Physician, Physicians, Registered Nurses, Case Managers / Interpreters, Medical Secretaries, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, and others to provide psychological and counselling services to individuals and families, specifically related to trauma, addictions, mental health and other areas of need. The position also participates in developing and delivering programs for small groups offering education, instruction, and support. The Psychologist works closely with patients and families as well with team members and service providers in helping families meet their needs, overcome their challenges, heal, and reach their goals.
