Job Description:

Reporting to the Chair, Wellness, the incumbent is responsible for the effective development, delivery, and support of programming addressing students' personal and educational needs in the AAADD (Academic Assistance for Adults with Developmental Disabilities) program. Support Specialists work in a classroom setting and one-on-one with adults with developmental disabilities to help students further develop their academic skills and build social skills within a college environment. The incumbent supports learning and development in areas such as English, Math, current events, life skills, computers, and job search skills.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a two-year diploma or equivalent in Developmental Service Worker Program, BA in Social Work, BEd, special education, or similar area of study
  • First Aid and CPR Certifications
  • Minimum of five years experience working in programs for students with developmental difficulties, including developing and implementing educational programs
