Responsibilities
  1. Lead the proposal, planning and delivery of consulting engagements with a focus on operational effectiveness and planning services in the public and not-for-profit sectors.
  2. Execute business planning, feasibility studies, strategic planning, operational planning, program review, program re-designs, financial analysis and other forms of management consulting.
  3. Manage engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials (budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition).
  4. Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to clients; ensure needs are met and relationships grow and develop.
  5. Review, design and develop high-quality deliverables including reports, presentations and other correspondence.
  6. Maintain high quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues or key risks relevant to the client’s business.
  7. Network in the local community, consider business development opportunities and lead the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals to meet client needs.
  8. Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews.
  9. Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary.
Skills and Experience
  1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, economics, political science or other related field.
  2. CMC, PMP, Six Sigma, Lean or other related certifications are considered an asset.
  3. 6 to 7 years of consulting experience, ideally in a public sector client-service environment.
  4. Experience in business and practice development.
  5. Demonstration of advanced project management skills and tactics.
  6. Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills.
