Roof Loader / Material Handler - 6 months contract

Position Summary

If you know anything about the construction business, you know that getting the right products to the right site on time and safely is the benchmark of success. It is both challenging and rewarding work. We are Team Convoy, a distributor of construction materials; we supply roofing, building envelope, and below-grade materials. We want folks with great people skills on our team because, in the end – people make all the difference.

For a Roof Loader, we are looking for a physically strong person who is comfortable working at heights for our Courtney location at 2981 Moray Avenue. This position offers the opportunity to learn about our industry, new equipment, and our business operations. This role may also include Shipper Receiver duties when not acting as a Roof Loader.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety protocols for fall protection
• Work in a physically demanding, labour-intensive environment
• Load and unload materials for trucks and safely stage them on rooftops for customers
• Assist Drivers with load securement following all safety standards
• Support drivers at the job site
• Handle shipping and receiving of materials when required
• Assemble orders, pack, wrap, and label pallets, and place materials in storage areas
• Load trucks, ensuring accuracy and quality of loads
• Organize stock and maintain inventory
• Follow all safety requirements
• Operate a forklift safely

Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs repeatedly daily
• Comfortable working on rooftops
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to attend work regularly
• Experience in a warehouse, distribution center, shipping and receiving, or similar environment
• Previous forklift experience
• Ability to maintain a regular and consistent schedule
• Basic math skills
