Your role

Radio-Canada Mauricie-Centre-du-Québec is looking for someone to fill the position of Regional Assignment Editor. Under the direction of the Associate Managing Editor, you will be responsible for the daily distribution and coordination of the work of journalists and camera operators assigned to regional coverage. Your goal will be to ensure optimal deployment across all our platforms, with particular attention to content produced for Radio-Canada’s website and mobile applications, in accordance with the Corporation’s standards and policies.

Your profile:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Five (5) years of journalism experience or equivalent

Skills:

  • Broad general knowledge
  • In-depth knowledge of current affairs and regional realities
  • Proficiency in French
  • Excellent knowledge of the other official language (an asset)
  • Strong understanding of newsroom logistics for radio, web, and television
  • Solid knowledge of writing techniques specific to various media
  • Familiarity with production techniques
  • Knowledge of the Corporation’s Journalistic Standards and Practices
  • Proven leadership and strong ability to mobilize teams and manage change
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate the journalists' daily work under tight deadlines; must be able to work under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide feedback
  • Familiarity with production software used at Radio-Canada (Dalet, Media Browser, INews) would be an asset
  • Valid driver’s license
