Your role

As a Senior Advisor, you will provide guidance and advisory services on Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) contract models and the implementation of Lean Project Delivery Systems. You will be part of a dedicated national Collaborative & Lean Project Delivery Team, working directly with clients, stakeholders, consultants, and contractors to facilitate successful project implementation. While your focus will be on IPD, you may also support on Progressive Design Build (PDB) and Alliance model deliveries.

Your goal is to become the trusted voice of the project, earning respect from clients and delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle. You should understand the differences between shared risk / reward contract models and other delivery models, and be familiar with Lean manufacturing principles and Lean Six Sigma methodologies, continuously growing your skills in these areas. You are comfortable challenging traditional tools and processes, recognizing opportunities to improve value and reduce waste, and addressing silo behaviors in the industry.

You are proactive in learning and applying new tools, strategies, and methodologies from Lean, IPD, and collaborative delivery lessons learned, leveraging your knowledge and expertise to achieve optimal project results. You value teamwork, can coach colleagues, and are open to being coached. Collaboration on process improvement is essential.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to assess readiness for engaging in IPD, providing education and process improvement guidance during early Pre-Validation.
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings, education sessions, and Lean & IPD workshops to prepare delivery teams.
• Assist clients in finalizing their business case, value proposition, and initial Conditions of Satisfaction.
• Develop strategies for procuring an IPD team.
• Support IPD teams throughout all phases, including Pre-Validation, onboarding, Validation, Design, Construction, and Commissioning.
• Lead interactive workshops (Values Alignment, IPD & Lean Bootcamps, Target Value Delivery) and coordinate regular engagement meetings.
• Train and advise teams on Lean methods, including Last Planner System implementation.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project teams, ensuring client satisfaction.
• Contribute to internal continuous improvement initiatives for project and process efficiencies.
• Provide guidance, tools, templates, and processes to support project delivery.
• Leverage internal team resources and coaching to support responsibilities and mentor junior advisors.
• Travel as needed to various project locations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in the design or construction industry.
• Experience with IPD facilitation and / or implementation of collaborative contracting leveraging Lean principles, early contractor involvement, and collaborative pre-planning.
• Understanding of traditional design, construction, and operation processes.
• Strong leadership, facilitation, and organizational skills with the ability to influence and resolve issues.
• Knowledge of various contract models and advising clients on best options.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and online collaboration tools.
• Lean, Lean Design, Lean Construction Management, or Lean Six Sigma certification is an asset, not mandatory.
