Job Summary

The role will be involved in the largest line of business within RBC Wealth Management segment (Global Asset Management).

RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM) is the asset management division of Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). RBC GAM is a provider of global investment management services and solutions to individual, high-net-worth and institutional investors through mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, hedge funds, and various specialty investment strategies. RBC GAM group of companies manage more than $600 billion of client assets globally and have more than 1,700 employees located across Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia.

The opportunity is to support the Global Asset Management Finance team, assist in the planning, forecasting, financial analysis, driver-based reporting and project related work. This position will work with multiple stakeholders in Toronto, Vancouver, London UK, Minneapolis, U.S. and Hong Kong. The purpose of the role is to support GAM Finance team and business partners to provide value-add advice and actionable financial information to enhance performance and create shareholder value.

Job Description

What will you do?

  • Assist in the completion of current year Forecast, supporting the preparation of forecast/budget presentation decks and financial analyses to senior business leaders for strategic decision making
  • Assist in the planning and execution of key business and finance projects
  • Support the production of key drivers-based reporting on items such as revenue, assets, clients, investment teams, products, and fees
  • Involved in the documentation of key finance processes and procedures including Performance Management, Financial Control, and Financial reporting activities
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance efficiencies and automate processes, with actionable plans

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Accounting/Finance background
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and concisely summarize complex issues/topics
  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills
  • Team player and able to work effectively with staff at all levels
  • Strong work ethics, willingness to take all issues through to a successful resolution

Nice-to-have

  • Banking/Asset Management industry experience
  • Exposure to Wealth Management products and businesses
  • Working experience in PeopleSoft/EPM accounting systems

  • Bereturning backto school after the work term end-date; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e.are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully
