Job Description: Disability Coordinator

Woodbine Entertainment Group, with nearly 150 years of horseracing history, is Canada's leading operator of professional horseracing. We are committed to providing high-quality racing, dining, and entertainment experiences, maintaining our status as a global leader in horse-racing and entertainment facilities.

The Disability Coordinator plays a vital role in managing employee absence policies and procedures. Responsibilities include:

  1. Processing leave requests
  2. Maintaining accurate records
  3. Completing billing processes
  4. Supporting and guiding employees on leave policies
  5. Coordinating return-to-work plans

This role aims to ensure precise leave management and support employees through effective communication and case management, including liaising with third-party adjudicators, managers, and union representatives.

Additional duties involve supporting disability and rehabilitation case management services, managing medical accommodation requests, WSIB claims, and disability cases, and maintaining detailed, confidential records.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Disability Management, Human Resources, or a related field

Skills:

  • Exceptional support skills for sensitive situations
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and understanding of benefits and employment laws
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, HRIS, and Case Management systems
  • Knowledge of employment legislation, collective agreements, and privacy acts

Experience: 1-2 years in disability case management or sick leave programs in a professional setting
