Role Overview

The Senior Manager, Global Banking and Markets Model Risk Management, supports the Head of GBM Model Risk Management in developing and executing the Global Model Risk Policy, focusing on the U.S. and Europe. The program includes model risk oversight, reporting, governance, communication, and education, providing independent review and challenge to ensure models are fit-for-purpose and compliant with global regulatory standards (e.g., FRB SR 11-7, OSFI E-23, PRA SS 1/23).

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage the bank's global model inventory for GBM, including all models and relevant metadata.
2. Champion Model Risk Management Policies, aligning with industry best practices, and serve as a subject matter expert on GBM model governance and compliance.
3. Oversee model reviews by Global Model Risk Management to ensure standards and business needs are met.
4. Coordinate documentation development during projects to address regulatory gaps.
5. Collaborate with Model Development, Validation, and Internal Audit to ensure documentation supports compliance and regulatory expectations.
6. Respond to ad hoc inquiries by providing expert guidance on policies, standards, and processes, ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks such as Basel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in risk management, banking, or related policy and process teams.
• Knowledge of model risk management and regulatory guidance (e.g., Fed SR 11/7, OSFI E-23, PRA SS 1/23).
• Understanding of GBM businesses and product types.
• Ability to interpret regulatory guidance into governance documents and tools.
• Solid understanding of model development and validation practices.
• Ability to review and challenge model methodologies and validation documentation.
• Strong influencing skills across cross-functional and global teams.
• Excellent analytical and attention to detail skills.
