What You’ll Do (Job responsibilities):

  1. Register works in our internal system, including outreach to songwriters and managers.
  2. Upload audio files to our database.
  3. Manage social media marketing, including strategy, scheduling, and content creation.
  4. Create marketing blasts, including graphic design and playlist assembly.
  5. Support A&R and sync licensing teams with creative inputs for pitches and briefs.
  6. Connect with music supervisors to obtain briefs and pitches.
  7. Update A&R looking lists to share opportunities with SMP songwriters.
  8. Coordinate studio bookings for songwriters, artists, and A&R.
  9. Support global affiliates with tour invitations, show attendance, and sync pitching.
  10. Assist A&R scouting, relationship management, and introductions.
  11. Review charts for unsigned songwriters as part of research support.
  12. Compile new releases by SMP songwriters for the team.
  13. Coordinate songwriting camps and assist with Juno Awards submissions.
  14. Create and maintain songwriter bios and one-sheets.
  15. Schedule songwriter collaborations and review demos for creative ideas.
  16. Attend shows and industry events representing SMP.
  17. Handle administrative, sync, A&R, and office tasks as needed.

Who You Are (Skills and experience):

  1. A proactive self-starter with strong problem-solving, social, and interpersonal skills.
  2. An exceptional communicator experienced working with artists, songwriters, managers, lawyers, agents, record labels, music supervisors, and industry partners.
  3. Dedicated to providing excellent service to SMP's global team.
  4. Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
  5. A positive, proactive team player who can also work independently.
  6. Responsible, accountable, and skilled in time management.
  7. Organized with project management experience preferred.
  8. Proficient in Microsoft Office and creative tools like Canva; quick learner of new systems.
  9. Passionate about diverse music genres and flexible to attend concerts and events.
  10. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in music, marketing, communication, business, or related fields.
  11. Available for a 7.5-hour workday with potential extended hours for evening and late-night events.
