What You’ll Do (Job responsibilities):
- Register works in our internal system, including outreach to songwriters and managers.
- Upload audio files to our database.
- Manage social media marketing, including strategy, scheduling, and content creation.
- Create marketing blasts, including graphic design and playlist assembly.
- Support A&R and sync licensing teams with creative inputs for pitches and briefs.
- Connect with music supervisors to obtain briefs and pitches.
- Update A&R looking lists to share opportunities with SMP songwriters.
- Coordinate studio bookings for songwriters, artists, and A&R.
- Support global affiliates with tour invitations, show attendance, and sync pitching.
- Assist A&R scouting, relationship management, and introductions.
- Review charts for unsigned songwriters as part of research support.
- Compile new releases by SMP songwriters for the team.
- Coordinate songwriting camps and assist with Juno Awards submissions.
- Create and maintain songwriter bios and one-sheets.
- Schedule songwriter collaborations and review demos for creative ideas.
- Attend shows and industry events representing SMP.
- Handle administrative, sync, A&R, and office tasks as needed.
Who You Are (Skills and experience):
- A proactive self-starter with strong problem-solving, social, and interpersonal skills.
- An exceptional communicator experienced working with artists, songwriters, managers, lawyers, agents, record labels, music supervisors, and industry partners.
- Dedicated to providing excellent service to SMP's global team.
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
- A positive, proactive team player who can also work independently.
- Responsible, accountable, and skilled in time management.
- Organized with project management experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and creative tools like Canva; quick learner of new systems.
- Passionate about diverse music genres and flexible to attend concerts and events.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in music, marketing, communication, business, or related fields.
- Available for a 7.5-hour workday with potential extended hours for evening and late-night events.
