Schedule

Emergency Department. Full Time 36 hours Nights rotation - (3) 12-hour shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am. Every other weekend and holiday rotation required.

Position Overview

The Unit Service Technician provides a broad range of care and services to patients, including but not limited to EKG, phlebotomy, equipment cleaning, and stocking of rooms under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Performs secretarial duties such as organizing paperwork, answering phones, paging, and receiving Emergency Department patients into the medi-tech computer system. Ensures safe and accurate transportation of patients throughout the hospital. Performs 1:1 sitting when necessary. Supports the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practices.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant license or EMT license required.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant, preferably in an Emergency setting.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Adherence to all I C.A.R.E. Standards.
  • Successful completion of an approved nursing assistant training program.
  • Effective communication skills in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Ability to pass clinical competency, basic math, and reading tests.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Ability to interpret medical terminology and abbreviations accurately.
  • Proficiency in entering and retrieving information in computerized systems.
  • Physical ability to push, transfer, and pull heavy loads.
  • Ability to meet core job requirements related to patient care.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
