Our client, a leading civil construction firm with over three decades of experience delivering large-scale infrastructure projects across British Columbia, is seeking a Civil Estimator to join their team in either Nanaimo or Victoria, BC . This is a hybrid position offering long-term stability, career growth, and the chance to contribute to high-profile projects in the region. Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil infrastructure projects, including road construction, underground utilities, bridges, and run-of-river hydroelectric work Review drawings, specifications, and site conditions to develop quantity take-offs and pricing strategies Utilize estimating software (Explorer and / or HeavyBid) to produce detailed bids and proposals Identify and pursue bid opportunities in both public and private sectors Maintain databases of suppliers, subcontractors, unit costs, and productivity benchmarks Participate in pre-construction planning, bid reviews, and post-award project kick-offs Provide estimating support to project teams during execution, as needed 3+ years of experience in civil estimating, preferably in roadworks, bridges, excavation, underground utilities, or hydro projects ~ Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology; Gold Seal certification is an asset ~ Proficiency with Explorer and / or HeavyBid estimating software; experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus ~ Strong grasp of unit costs, labor productivity, and local market pricing ~ Annual bonus pay based on performance Extended health, dental, life, disability, and dependent coverage RRSP matching and relocation support available Employee appreciation events and a long-standing reputation for project excellence
