Synopsis

As an Economist / Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our understanding of the Quebec real estate market. You will be responsible for forecasting economic trends, analyzing complex data, and delivering insightful reports that inform our decision-making. Your work will directly impact our strategic initiatives and investment decisions.

What You'll Be Doing (60% Economist / 40% Data Science)

  1. Forecasting and Analysis: You will analyze economic indicators, demographic trends, and real estate market data to forecast future trends.
  2. Data-Driven Insights: You will extract and analyze data from diverse sources to uncover valuable insights and identify emerging opportunities.
  3. Model Development: You will build and refine sophisticated models to simulate market scenarios and assess risk.
  4. Thought Leadership: Communicate analytical results effectively through written reports, webinars, conferences, and interviews and position yourself as the subject matter expert in the industry.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Economics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  2. Bilingual - Fluency in French and English
  3. Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and other relevant programming languages.
  4. Data Analysis and Visualization: Expertise in data mining, statistical analysis, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
  5. Machine Learning: Strong foundation in machine learning algorithms and techniques (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, time series analysis).
  6. Data Engineering: Experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, and cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, Azure).
  7. Mastery of fundamental economic concepts.
  8. Data collection and analysis skills.
  9. Modeling and forecasting techniques.
  10. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
