Our purpose is to successfully combine improving people's quality of life, the economic and social development of regions, and massive decarbonization to meet the imperative of carbon neutrality by 2050.

Job Description

As an eco-design deployment intern for North America, you will work under the supervision of the Ecodesign Project Manager within the Group's ESG Climate Department and the local ESG lead.

Your role will be to provide the operational teams in the North America region with a practical manual for the eco-design of infrastructure projects, aligned with regional and Egis frameworks.

In 2022, Egis committed to eco-designing 100% of its projects by 2030. This major initiative involves transforming design processes to reduce negative impacts on communities and the environment (e.g., GHG emissions, biodiversity, pollution, soil sealing) and to enhance resilience to climate risks. The Act4ecodesign program supports this transformation through training and a framework for assessing environmental impacts and setting performance objectives. Deployment in North America begins in May 2025.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Studying existing sustainability and eco-design frameworks relevant to infrastructure and buildings in the region (e.g., Envision, SITES, LEED, BREEAM Infrastructure)
  • Analyzing practices and references of regional projects, including competitors' approaches to sustainability and environmental impact reduction
  • Collaborating with operational staff to co-develop a practical, applicable eco-design manual for infrastructure projects
  • Supporting staff in implementing eco-design practices on projects
  • Documenting and sharing lessons learned and best practices

Qualifications

You hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering and are currently pursuing a graduate degree in sustainability or environmental engineering, with a background in construction engineering.

You are committed to the energy and environmental transition and are interested in change management processes.

You seek a 6-month internship to apply your academic knowledge practically.

You are fluent in English and French, with strong intercultural communication skills.

You are autonomous, dynamic, proactive, and capable of providing constructive suggestions.

Excellent interpersonal and writing skills in both languages are essential, as is the ability to analyze critically, engage in dialogue, and solve problems collaboratively with operational teams.
