Job summary

A health care facility in Ontario is seeking a Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer to coordinate and evaluate examinations. Qualifications

Job description

Job Summary :

As a member of the Multidisciplinary Health Care team, this position coordinates, performs, and evaluates Diagnostic Services examinations within specific modalities and disciplines.

Qualifications :

  • Graduate of an approved/accredited training program in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography / Adult Echocardiography (asset).
  • Willingness to attend required training to become a licensed Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer / Adult Echocardiographer.
  • Active membership with Sonography Canada and CMRITO (asset).
  • Graduate of a two-year health professions diploma or a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a registered health profession, including six credit hours in Human Anatomy and Physiology and six additional health-related credits (e.g., ethics, psychology, patient care, medical research).
  • Eligible professions include: MRT, Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, Respiratory Therapist, Cardiovascular Technologist, RMT, OTA/PTA, Kinesiology, Nursing, Medical/Health Sciences, OT, and PT.
  • Current BLS / CPR Certificate.
  • Proficient with M-Mode and 2D Echo Doppler (asset).
  • Minimum of 3 months previous experience working directly with clients in a health care facility (preferred).
  • Strong team player with effective communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled in problem-solving, critical thinking, and prioritization in fast-paced clinical settings.
  • Active participation in ongoing education and professional development.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including keyboarding and word processing.

Job Duties :

  • Scheduled 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday; not regularly scheduled on-call, overtime, or weekend shifts.
  • Familiarity with equipment, preventative maintenance, accreditation standards, and documentation of results.
  • Responsible for taking reasonable care to protect the health and safety of yourself and others by practicing and promoting safe work habits.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
