Base pay range

CA$32.59 / hr - CA$37.26 / hr

Position Objective

Working to promote excellence, quality patient / client care and high professional standards, the Echocardiographer (Cardiac Sonographer) will be responsible for performing echocardiography in an acute care setting on in-patients and outpatients of all ages. The objective is to provide safe and competent care through the application of practical knowledge, the technical aspects of professional practice and the demonstration of compassion, professionalism and respect.

Qualifications

o Graduate of a recognized Echocardiography program

o Current registration with CMRITO required

o One year related clinical experience working as a Echocardiographer in the past five years in a similar hospital environment

o Demonstrated ability to perform echocardiograms on patients of all ages (adult, pediatric and infant)

o Demonstrated ability to perform transesophageal echocardiography at hospital sites that provide this service

o Applies knowledge, skills, judgment and competencies required for safe, independent and inter-disciplinary practice by meeting professional practice standards as outlined by the American Registry of Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographers and related professional associations

o Applies Niagara Health values and professional practice standards to patient / client care and service

o Integrates reflection, critical thinking, education and relevant practical experience in problem solving

o Working knowledge of computers

o Proficiency in both official languages (English & French) will be considered an asset

o Consistent and regular attendance required
