What You’ll Be Doing

Enterprise Wires Modernization (EWM) is a multi-year program that will implement a new modernized wire payment platform in several phases and workstreams. As a director of Application Development for EWM, you will be accountable for managing a team of solution consultants responsible for creating the solution design of the new modernized wire payments platform. This includes ensuring alignment of interim solutions of the various phases/workstreams, while considering the desired overall target state outcomes including ease of on-going support. Additionally, you will be accountable for remediating any design and build issues that may arise. You will also be connected with and aware of all industry payments changes to strategically evolve the wire payment platform solution to be flexible, scalable and adaptable for evolving business needs.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Design & Develop : Provide comprehensive senior level technical consulting to senior IT management and technical teams, working closely with multiple Technology groups and LOBs to identify and evaluate existing applications and determine the best and most relevant approaches and next steps.

  • Technical Solutions : Define end to end technical solutions that take into account the enterprise architecture strategies, current state environment and constraints for enterprise payments systems including payments originating channels, Payment Services Hubs, Payment Engines and Payment rails. Analyze the viability of solutions to meet product timelines, budget and quality. Present the solution to different stakeholders as needed.

  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with business and technology partners to translate features and requirements to technical design and act as the lead designer for the program. Support business by helping drive solutions that meet the business goals and strategies. Provide excellent advisory and SME expertise on best practices, methods and detailed approaches to integrating multiple applications in a highly complex environment, including helping to create high-level design artifacts, identify design issues as well as detailed system integration plans . Lead the design council, which will be a forum with key stakeholders to determine key aspects of the solution, ensure buy-in of the solution design from key stakeholders, and remediate any design issues that may arise

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience: minimum of 5-7 years as a Solution or Technical Architect/Consultant. You have experience of providing guidance to technical teams, creating executive decks independently and are well versed at presenting to executives. Experience working with business and architecture teams to develop and design technology solutions is essential to this role. Ideally, you have progressed through application development, analysis and design throughout your career. It’s an asset if you have previous client facing consulting experience. You have highly developed analytical and conceptual skills in developing efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex problems. You have strong knowledge of: high-value payments ecosystem (SWIFT/Lynx/LVTS wire payments). It’s an asset if you have knowledge of Industry Payments Modernization and other regulatory and expertise in Canadian payments community. Solid experience with a variety of technologies/frameworks including event-driven architecture, REST APIs, microservice architecture, CI/CD processes, DevOps pipelines, etc. Knowledge of ISO20022 payment standard considered an asset. Knowledge of payment processing platforms (Payment Services Hubs, payment engines) considered an asset.

  • You have a degree / diploma in : Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics or Technical discipline; an MBA would be an asset
