Job description

Diagnostic Radiology Advanced Practitioner

Progressive Physician Associates (PPA) is a multi-specialty group consisting of Interventional Radiologists, Diagnostic Radiologists, and Vascular Surgeons who provide services to St. Luke’s University Health Network.

We seek to expand our advanced practitioner service to extend the excellent clinical care our Diagnostic Radiology division provides throughout St. Luke’s Hospital Network. The advanced practitioner will provide comprehensive medical/surgical care to patients at multiple sites, in collaboration with physicians and other staff. This includes medical evaluation, performing various procedures in collaboration with the attending physicians, and patient education.

The selected candidates will play an integral part of the development and integration of this service into a currently high functioning Diagnostic Radiology practice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Will review upcoming procedure orders, troubleshoot pre-procedure discrepancies, and act as a liaison between the ordering providers and the radiologists.
  • Will perform a variety of in and outpatient image-guided procedures autonomously and in collaboration with the Radiologists. Procedures include, however, are not limited to, musculoskeletal injections/aspirations, thyroid biopsies, and neuroradiology spine procedures.
  • Educate patients and families regarding the procedures and post-procedure care.
  • Participates in clinical research activities and assists in patient entry.
  • Takes an active role in ongoing QI/PI activities.
  • Functions as a mentor and resource providing guidance to coworkers and residents.
Work Schedule:
  • Primarily days, subject to change with the needs of the network.
  • Will rotate coverage for all hospitals within St. Luke’s University Health Network which includes 10 counties in eastern Pennsylvania and western New Jersey.
Additional Requirements:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, and interest in performing image-guided procedures in Diagnostic Radiology.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to interface and collaborate with patients, families, staff, and physicians effectively.
  • Maintain knowledge of current medical practices and skills.
Experience and Certifications:
  • Current Certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or the American Nurses Credentialing Center for Nurse Practitioners required.
  • Prior experience in healthcare preferred.
