The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing Human Resources support and guidance to the Mississauga office and GTM Canada team. The primary focus areas for this role are: staffing administration, return to work coordination, employee relations, employee wellness, and community relations. This role will also work on ad hoc projects to improve processes and implement projects to support the HR strategy. This role will report to the HRBP FII US/CAN with a dotted line to Manager Benefits US/CAN.
What will you do:
•Scheduling all new hire onboarding tasks and training.
•Proactively identify future human resource requirements for staffing and manpower planning.
•Site analyst and resource for the Time & Attendance System; ownership of ensuring hourly employees are using system accurately and as they should
•Identify areas of improvement (processes, system, etc.) within the HR function
•Interface with 3rd party pension and benefit (health and welfare and retirement) providers to ensure plan obligations are fulfilled on a timely basis.
•Manage employees returning to work from a LOA, including compliance with all statutory leave requests.
•Coordinate and organize efforts to sustain and promote community relations.
•Support delivery of employee programs, services, HR policy, process, and procedures in the Canada Ingredion Go to Market (GTM) organization;
•Partner with HRBP to communicate and/or deliver corporate talent, performance and engagement initiatives in Canada; provide support with talent, employee engagement, team effectiveness, and change management
•Responsible for HR administration of unemployment claims, leave of absence, specific tax forms (2200’s)
•Track and monitor disability and leave claims in coordination with HR Shared Services and 3rd Party vendors for GTM CAN. Monitor adherence to state and federal laws and timelines. Counsel colleagues on parental and other leave options;
•Coordinate onboarding and offboarding of staff in close collaboration with all departments, line manager, facility reception and IT
•Conduct interviews for entry level roles in FII USCAN, participate in debrief sessions and, assist in candidate offer flow process and work with HRBP to support offer proposals for internal and external candidates.
•Serve as point of contact to support metrics and HR Scorecard for FII USCAN. Run and provide ad-hoc reports from Workday, Excel or other software as required. (Including headcount, staffing and diversity reports)
•Support training, I&B, engagement, wellbeing and community building efforts for the Mississauga site. Planning of company events and wellness activities
Specific benefit responsibilities include:
•Point of contact for and/all questions as it relates to benefits and pension in Canada
•Overseeing enrollment into Pension/Savings plans, maintaining pension and savings plan booklets and communication
•Respond to escalations regarding enrollment or contribution issues related to any Canadian benefits
•Liaison with Canadian payroll team for any questions/follow up related to deductions, imputed income, matching that affects an employee’s pay
•Maintain general benefit policies in HR Connect including holiday schedule and summer hour details
•Vendor management of Canadian benefit vendors; including attending regular meetings
•Partnering closely with U.S. Benefit team to collaborate on Can benefits; direction and decision making comes from U.S./Can Benefit Manager
What will you bring :
•Post-secondary education in the human resources discipline or equivalent in education and experience.
•1-3 years of HR Generalist experience
•Minimum 1-2 years of experience/knowledge of Canadian benefits
•Knowledge and experience managing Canada, labor laws and benefits
•Knowledgeable in Employment Standards and collective agreement administration
•Experience working with time-management software such as Workday, etc.
•Language: English and French
•Ability to manage confidential data

NoPay Range:
$72,000.00-$96,000.00 AnnualThis pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).
Incentive Compensation:
As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
