The salary scale for NSCC Faculty ranges from $74,170.79 to $102,223.12, based on steps. New faculty may receive up to five steps for relevant occupational experience and up to four additional steps for full-time instructional experience, with a maximum of nine steps or $95,478.45.
Qualifications
- Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's License (M1 and/or M2).
- At least five years (full-time equivalent) of recent experience in fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft maintenance, including reciprocating and turbine engines, aircraft safety, regulations, and human factors. Note: Two years of training count towards educational requirements but not occupational experience.
- Understanding of Manufacturer's and Regulatory Documentation (CAR 566), including SRM, Service Bulletins, Engineering Drawings, etc.
- Extensive knowledge and skilled use of trade tools and processes.
- Hands-on experience as a rotary and fixed wing AME is a strong asset.
- Familiarity with computer applications like Microsoft Office and email.
- Comfortable working in digital environments, committed to technological advancement, and supporting online and blended learning.
- Experience in delivering educational programs or training to adults is preferred.
- Experience liaising with industry partners.
- Knowledge of WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety, and safety practices.
- Ability to teach effectively online/blended, including using course management systems and engaging students virtually. Willingness to participate in training for online teaching if needed.

Responsibilities
- Provide theoretical and practical instruction in Aircraft Maintenance Technology - Mechanical.
- Design and deliver engaging educational experiences using various teaching practices and technologies, including Learning Management Systems like Brightspace.
- Ensure health and safety compliance in all instructional settings.
- Stay current with industry practices and pedagogical methods, including online and blended modalities, possibly involving off-site instruction and flexible hours.
- Engage in academic advisement, committee participation, curriculum development, program marketing, supporting work placements, liaising with industry, representing NSCC, and upholding policies.
