Job description

Skills Provision is searching for a Quality Assurance Technician for a company in Canada.

Our client is a leading supplier of tea and coffee throughout the country. They still follow traditional artisan practices whilst embracing quality and authenticity.

Sector : Beverage

Position : Permanent

Salary & Benefits

  • C$92,000 p / a

Role

  • Conduct daily quality checks throughout the evaluation process.
  • Record and communicate lab results to the Plant Management Team.
  • Perform additional testing and analysis when required.
  • Assist QA Manager in monthly food safety audit checks.
  • Assist the QA manager in completing twice yearly mock recalls.
  • Oversee the non-conforming product program ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and in working order.
  • Ensure department tasks are carried out correctly and in a safe, timely manner.

Requirements

  • Trained in statistical process control (SPC).
  • Familiarity with third party audits.
  • Two years of quality assurance or manufacturing experience, or a combination of both.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage time efficiently.
  • Organised and able to handle multiple tasks at any one time.
  • Self-directed, able to work autonomously.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong understanding of coffee and tea components.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to uphold quality standards.
  • Ability to analyse data and make recommendations on system and process improvements.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office.
