Title : Instructor Early Childhood Educator (ECE)

This is a part-time position in the ECE program to teach at our Surrey Campus. Primary duties are course instruction in a face-to-face class format.

Responsibilities :

1. Teach within the Early Childhood Education courses as scheduled.

2. Assess all assignments and promptly post grades for exams and assignments on the College database, keeping all grades confidential.

3. Collaborate with other faculty and administration as needed.

4. Review and revise common syllabi for courses taught each semester based on feedback from other instructors, students and the Program Coordinator.

5. Assist with course revisions, including rubrics for major assignments, final assessments, selection of textbooks and other resource materials as requested.

6. Assist in writing and revision of program-related handbooks as needed.

7. Advise potential ECE students on enrollment requirements.

8. Monitor and maintain portions of ECE Alumni eSite.

9. Participate in ECE Advisory Committee.

10. Attend external ECE meetings as requested.

11. Co-facilitate orientation meetings for Practicum Host Site staff, in conjunction with the ECE Program Coordinator as requested.

12. Co-facilitate orientation meetings for students prior to their practicum experiences, in conjunction with the ECE Program Coordinator as requested.

13. Perform other duties as assigned by the ECE Program Coordinator, the Dean of Programs, or as designated by the President

Education / Experience Required

Successful candidates will have the following as a minimum :

Minimally a diploma in Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Care and Education, and two (2) years of full-time work experience within an Early Childhood setting.

Ten (10) years of full-time work experience within the Early Childhood Field.

Member in good standing with the ECE Registry.

Follow the Code of Ethics as outlined by the Early Childhood Educators of British Columbia (ECEBC).
