Job summary

Mackenzie Health in York Region, Richmond Hill, is seeking a committed individual to assist in providing exemplary care and educational programs for young children as part of the Child Care & Early Learning Centre team. Job Description

As a member of the Child Care & Early Learning Centre team, I am responsible for assisting in providing exemplary care and educational programs for young children. I am committed to the philosophy of the Centre and its mandate to offer service in accordance with Ontario Legislation and the Ministry of Education's requirements. I co‑operate in planning and implementing the daily program with the Early Childhood Educator (E.C.E.) under the direction of the Co‑ordinator. The role includes supporting appropriate programs and activities in an early learning environment for children aged 12 months up to 6 years, as well as performing daily enhanced cleaning duties.

What must you have?
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Experience working with young children required.
  • Must maintain certification and qualification as required by Mackenzie Health.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR (C) certificate.
  • As a condition of employment, successful candidates will be required to submit an original Police Vulnerable Sector Check from the jurisdiction in which they reside prior to commencing employment.
What else do you bring?
  • Currently enrolled in an Early Childhood Educator program or previous experience in a day care setting preferred.
  • Ability to relate well to children and be willing to fulfil responsibilities in accordance with the centre's educational philosophy.
  • Proven attendance record. Flexibility regarding assigned working hours, able to work split shifts if required.
  • Demonstrates understanding and compliance with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others.
  • Demonstrates behaviours consistent with Mackenzie Health’s Commitment to Caring.
