Now Hiring: Corporate Trust Officer (18 Months Contract)

The Corporate Trust Officer manages and directs the administration of a portfolio of Corporate Trust client accounts. Responsibilities include reviewing and negotiating appointment documents, ensuring risk is minimized and administrative duties are clear. The role also involves supporting the Transfer Agent business in collaboration with the Client Management team.

Location: Montreal, Hybrid (2 days/week in-office)

Key Accountabilities:
  1. Negotiate trust and non-trust agreements, assess risks, and recommend acceptance of new business and fees.
  2. Review legal documentation related to corporate financing and transactions to ensure compliance and protection standards.
  3. Represent TSX Trust in managing client accounts, working with legal counsel and client officers on various matters.
  4. Analyze agreements, coordinate with business units, and ensure contractual compliance and account monitoring.
  5. Prepare correspondence, resolve fees, and coordinate billing processes.
  6. Provide excellent customer service to clients, legal counsel, and investors.
  7. Identify issues, escalate with analysis and recommendations.
  8. Maintain knowledge of relevant law, finance, and internal policies.
  9. Seek opportunities for new business and product development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • University Degree in law, business, commerce, or finance.
  • 4-6 years of experience in finance, corporate, or securities industry OR 1-3 years as a practicing lawyer.
  • Strong analytical skills and judgment.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; French is an asset.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail.
  • Proactive relationship builder with client focus.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Capable of managing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
