Your Opportunity:

Description:

As a Maintenance Worker III, you will perform a variety of skilled maintenance and repair work on patient and hospital equipment and complex mechanical systems to ensure safety and efficient operation of the building systems and equipment. Your responsibilities include performing preventative and demand maintenance within the exterior and interior of the building, troubleshooting and repairing electronic components on hospital equipment, and monitoring and repairing systems such as boilers, HVAC, medical air and vacuum, and pure water systems. You may also coordinate and assign work to other Maintenance Worker staff to meet operational requirements.

  • Employment Type: Casual/Relief
  • Hours: Varies; shifts include days, evenings, nights, weekends, on call
  • Salary Range: $31.22 - $34.02 hourly
  • Driver's License: Required; Vehicle provided

Qualifications:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in a related field and/or 1 year specialized/technical training OR 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate per ABSA standards
  • Valid driver's license
  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent education
  • Minimum one year experience in plant operations and maintenance with demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Basic computer skills in Windows environment
  • Ability to work under pressure, troubleshoot operational issues, and work independently or with others
  • On-call availability within 20 minutes for facility issues

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HVAC-specific training or experience with systems such as ventilation, hydronics, boilers, refrigeration
  • Experience with computerized building control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret building drawings and schematics
  • Experience in healthcare facility operations and maintenance
