Job description

Merit Services is seeking an IT Auditor to join our client’s dynamic team in Kelowna. As an IT Auditor, your responsibilities will involve analyzing potential risks, assessing the effectiveness of controls, and offering suggestions for improving the efficiency of our IT processes. This is a thrilling chance for you to utilize your knowledge in IT auditing, risk management, and compliance to significantly influence our company’s security and governance procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Conduct comprehensive IT audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls, adherence to policies and regulations, and implementation of industry standards.
• Perform assessments of risks and identify weaknesses in information systems, networks, and applications.
• Evaluate IT governance procedures, including IT strategy, project oversight, and IT service management.
• Assess the effectiveness of security protocols, such as access controls, change management, and data protection.
• Analyze audit results, compile detailed reports, and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to implement corrective actions, monitor progress, and ensure issues are resolved promptly.
• Stay informed about emerging risks, industry best practices, and integrate this knowledge into audit processes.
• Provide guidance to leadership on managing IT risks and establishing effective governance practices.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience in IT auditing or related roles, including risk and control assessment.
• Knowledge of IT auditing methodologies, frameworks, and standards such as COBIT, ISO 27001, and NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements like GDPR, PIPEDA, or SOX.
• Comprehensive knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, and security principles.
• Practical experience with audit tools and data analysis/visualization technologies.
• Professional certifications such as CISA or CISSP are preferred.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to critically evaluate complex data.
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey audit findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
