Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – ICU with Step Down Unit (1099 Contract)

Intensive Care Unit / Step Down Unit

Position Summary:

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Step-Down Unit, making a meaningful impact on the lives of critically ill patients. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients in the ICU and Step-Down Unit, including comprehensive history-taking and physical examinations.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on clinical guidelines and patient needs.
  • Perform essential diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including intubation, central line placement, and medication management.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans and effectively communicating with the healthcare team and families.
  • Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment options, and discharge plans.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records per institutional policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to training and education programs for staff.

Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Florida.
  • Certification as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner (ACNP or FNP) or National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to manage complex patient situations effectively.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • ACLS and BLS certification required.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-Time Day Shift: 7 on, 7 off, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
  • Full-Time Night Shift: 10 shifts per month from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Compensation:

  • This is a 1099 contract position, and compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
